Smart Beginnings Partner Activities

Smart Beginnings partners across the state are working to ensure that every child will enter school ready to learn. Smart Beginnings communities collaborate across public and private sectors, including K-12 education, early care, health, local government, faith-based, family support, social service, higher education, and the business community to build a comprehensive locally driven early childhood system.

These are just a few highlights of our partners' recent work:

For the 5th year in a row, Smart Beginnings Greater Richmond has raised awareness of kindergarten registration and school readiness. The kindergarten registration date was April 16, and included 15 localities in their region - 152 elementary schools.  Smart Beginnings facilitated PSAs, TV and radio interviews, bi-lingual newspaper inserts, posters and social media to help raise awareness. Check out some of their highlights on the link below to see how they collaborated with media partners to help ensure regional kindergarten registration was a success in 2015.
